Conarton, Coroner, for Susquehanna County respectfully represents as follows: 1. On January 1, 2014, at 11:15 A.M., Mr. Hal Akoa was pronounced dead at 2038 SR 2073, Kingsley, PA. 2. At the time of his death, Mr. Akoa was homeless and had been living in a pole barn on the property of Barbara Kazmierczak. 3. At the time of his death, he was 77 years of age. His birth date was March 9, 1936. His Social Security number is 143-26-4915. 4. To the best of the knowledge, information and belief of the petitioner, Hal Akoa had no Will at the time of his death. 5. Mr. Akoa's cellular phone and personal belongings were examined for potential contact information for relatives, which is unsuccessful. 6. Multiple on-line searches were conducted to locate potential relative, which was unsuccessful. 7. Son of the decedent, William Skirpstunas was contacted and wishes not to have any involvement in the disposition of his father. William also refuses to provide us with contact information for any other siblings. See Exhibit #1. 8. Brother of the decedent, Leslie Skirpstunas was contacted and fails to respond. See Exhibit #2. 9. Veterans Affairs in Syracuse, NY and Wilkes-Barre, PA were contacted and both reported that there is no record of the decedent. 10. Admission Records from May 2, 2012, for Gracious Living Estates in Tunkhannock show the only contact as a friend, Ron Coslko, Hop Bottom Borough Police Chief. No next of kin was documented. See Exhibit #3. 11. This petitioner requests that letters of administration be issued so that the disposition of Mr. Akoa's remains may be handled and that the administration of his estate be commenced. WHEREFORE, the petitioner respectfully requests that the Honorable Court appoint an administrator in order to arrange the cremation or burial for the decedent and the administration of his estate, if any.
